The surveyor will document the attic's roof structure, your electrical panel, and the outside roof structure. These details will aid our designers in the final design of your project.

Your solar system design will be completed by our design team. In this stage, our designers will create a detailed construction plan, which the team will review and double-check when complete.

The design process can take up to 2-3 weeks. Once it's done you are required to approve the final design

If there are any change orders, i.e. adding or subtracting panels or batteries, that also happens at this stage of the process. Your sales representative will be in touch.

We're excited to let you know that our team is working on applying for and submitting your county and utility permit applications! During this process, several applications are needed to gain approval to install and operate your new solar system, including a building and electrical permit with your local county jurisdiction. This permitting process can take anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks. During the permit process, you may not receive communication updates from us unless we need additional information from you*.

*Sometimes signatures are required in advance to streamline your project.

**Please note you may see a projected commissioning date on the interconnection documents. This is not an estimated install date, it is simply a standard date required by the utility (6 months from application submission).

Once we have received a stamp of approval from the permitting office, we will prepare the equipment and reach out to schedule your installation.

Your inspection has passed - woohoo! Next up, we will request permission to operate (PTO) from your utility company. Sometimes this can be a long wait, which is frustrating for you and for us, too. It can take up to a month or even longer if the utility company's net metering office is backed up. We have a specialist who works with utilities to speed this process, but sometimes it's out of our hands. Thanks for your patience at this stage. Please be aware: by law, a customer is not permitted to turn on their system until PTO is granted by the utility. Please leave your system off at this time.

Once the utility has upgraded your meter, and granted you PTO you are permitted to turn on the system. We'll contact you to make sure your system is producing as it should and answer any questions you may have. You'll also receive an invoice for your final payment at this stage. If you're a loan customer, our finance specialist will be in touch.
